The main purpose of The Tern Valley Tinkers is to play traditional music for dancing by which we mean ceilidhs or barn dances typically at private parties, weddings and community events including theme nights, for example, St Patrick’s and Burn’s night. We can also provide music for a wide range of other events including farmers’ markets, street festivals, village fetes, agricultural shows and for groups and organisations. In addition to playing traditional tunes, we can lead community singing. The band perform regularly in Shropshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire, but travel nationally and have played events in Derbyshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Lancashire, Northamptonshire and Somerset. We welcome enquiries both local and from further afield.
The Tern Valley Tinkers have public liability insurance (up to £5 million) and are an affiliated group of the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS). We have a high-quality sound system which is suited to the reproduction of acoustic and folk music. All equipment used is PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) tested and we can provide a certificate if required.
