The Tern Valley Tinkers can provide music for a wide range of other events including charity events, street carnival and festivals, village fetes, agricultural shows and vintage and steam rallies and for private parties.
The Tern Valley Tinkers have also performed concerts, sessions and led ceilidhs for music schools. They also regularly play in public houses in and around the Market Drayton area; these include The Red Lion, The Sandbrook Vaults and The Talbot. Also concerts in care homes.
The Tern Valley Tinkers are incredibly versatile, providing musical accompaniment for the Market Drayton Town Council Carols, performing walk on parts in theatrical performances and providing early or period music for medieval fairs, such as, the Damson Fair in Market Drayton, as well as playing theme nights (Irish – St Patrick’s Night, Scottish – Burn’s Night, Shropshire/traditional, Harvest, Christmas and New Years’ Hootenanny’s).
In addition to playing traditional tunes, we can lead community singing and party games.
James and Gareth can also play a programme of French jazz and swing music, ideal for French and continental markets – a selection of this music can be found on the Media page.
The Tern Valley Tinkers have a high-quality live sound system which is available for hire and is suited to the reproduction of acoustic and folk music. We have a keen interest in live sound and are interested to hear from you whether you are a local musician or an organiser of a club or folk festival.
